Mexssub has developed a state of the art pipeline reinforcement and protection system, that allows for a certified “Permanent Repair” for offshore and inland waters without suspending production. Although the Mexssub systems and related procedures were developed as a maintenance tool, it is now used to prevent riser and pipeline failure, in new offshore installations as well, protecting sections of pipelines and risers known to experience accelerated rates of corrosion.
Following the successful development of the Mexssub Sleeve System for riser (vertical pipelines) reinforcement, repair and rehabilitation in 1986, the company devoted its resources to create a similar approach for repairing and rehabilitating subsea horizontal pipelines. Through an ongoing research and development program, Mexssub’s engineers developed in 1993 the equipment and related procedures, necessary to apply the underwater repair technology to subsea, inland shallow water, and inland pipelines.
There are 4 MAIN IN-SITU applications of the Sleeve System, aside from the application of the sleeves for new pipelines and risers.
