The MEXSSUB Sleeve System is a system specifically designed to repair eroded or corroded risers and pipelines in situ without suspending production. MEXSSUB´s patented technology eliminates the need to remove other welded sleeves and can be installed over other systems.
The MEXSSUB Sleeve System (MSS) consists of a number of mating sleeve sections which are welded together around the damaged or corroded pipe area. Each MSS sleeve is manufactured from the highest quality steel (allows MAWP of 1,350 psi and 2,220 psi) and under the most strict procedures. Each sleeve going out of the manufacturing facility obtains a Product Certificate by Det Norske Veritas.
The MSS’s larger diameter creates an annulus between the sleeve and the existing pipe. This space is then filled with a proprietary epoxy resin with a very low heat transfer coefficient that allows the outside surface of the sleeve to remain close to ambient temperature.
The Mss can be installed over existing clamps, bends or changes in geometry (Y‘s, T‘s, etc.). The system can also be sized to enclose leaking or corroded clamps on the pipeline.
All welding procedures for fabrication and field installation are qualified in accordance with ASME sections IX, B31.4 & B31.8, API-1104.
